Collaborative Painting 珠聯璧合

The Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole of The University of Hong Kong, the AHAF Committee and Sense Art Studio are delighted to present an exhibition of paintings and calligraphy by Professor Jao Tsung-i and his close friends. Each of the works is painted by Jao and other prominent painters, capturing the essence of the communication through the beauty of art.

This is the Special Exhibition of Asia Top Gallery Hotel Art Fair 2011. Ticket is needed.

Jao Tsung-i
Born in Chaozhou, Guangdong in 1917, Professor Jao Tsung-i is a renowned sinologist who dedicates his life in academic research and artistic creation. Currently Lim Por-Yen Chair of Chinese Cultural Studies, HKU; Emeritus Professor of Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Chair Professor of the Institute of Chinese Studies and Department of Fine Arts, CUHK. Professor Jao also assumes role of Honorary Professor to several Mainland universities, including Peking University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Sun Yat-sen University and Xiamen University.

Dancing in Spring

In Collaboration with Zhao Shao-ang (1904-1998)

In this painting, Zhao Shao-ang depicted the sparrow and the weeping willows portrayed by Professor Jao serves as background. The vitality of spring is revealed through this combination, and Professor Jao used the painting title originally the work by Seiho Takeuchi, because the two paintings are of the similar theme.

In Collaboration with Chen Haiying (1918-2010)

In this painting, the swarm of shrimps done by Chen Haiying are dense but spread skillfully, while the arrowheads painted by Professor Jao are sparse but orderly arranged. Both of them brought their skills into full play.
